To view this site and it's pages, you must be part of the asp-l listserv. You must also register for as a user of this wiki and be confirmed as part of the asp-l community. You won't be able to read any of the pages until an administrator has confirmed that you are part of the asp-l community.

If you’ve heard of Wikipedia, you’ve seen a wiki in action. Wiki is the software that allows Wikipedia to be an online Encyclopedia (of sorts), just like Word or WordPerfect is the software that allows you to create brilliant assignments, learning plans, and scholarship. Wiki is an online tool that allows people to edit web pages in their browser with no more computer skills than it takes to use a word processor.
The ASP wiki is whatever you want it to be. Currently, it serves as an idea bank for presentations, assignments, and resources you might find helpful in starting (or revising) your own Academic Support Program. It also serves as a place where we can record what other schools are doing about any topic you might have. In this case, people tend to post questions to the listserv, then other people say, “I want to know, too,” so the question asker collects all of the answers into a document and posts them to the academic support wiki.
With respect to the wiki, Hillary is nothing more than tech support and an otherwise equal member, just like you. Hillary nags you to contribute to the wiki because she is a new Academic Success Professional who wants to learn how to better serve students from your great ideas.
Ruth and Hillary have a continuous conversation about how the two fit together, generating new ideas all the time. Currently, the aspwiki is conceived as an idea bank where you can post (and eventually peruse) workshop materials, past listserv questions and answers, and conversations about program design so that you can generate ideas about how you might like to conceive of your own academic support program. The difference between the aspwiki and the LSASP is that Ruth and Ken have carefully conceived of the LSASP website, predicted needs for administrators, ASPers, and students, and is compiling a growing, but static wealth of resources that will be at once brilliant, wise, professional, and abundant. The aspwiki is more of an ad hoc resource (read: spontaneous) of, for, and by the ASP community as questions and needs arise.
